importance of yoga-

The importance of Yoga has been presented by Yogacharya Maharishi Patanjali in the form of sutras in Yoga Darshan. Today the same yoga is gaining fame all over the world. Yoga means to join. Yoga is the total union of the soul with the Supreme Soul. According to Yogacharya Maharishi Patanjali, to establish one's mind in one place is yoga, 'Yogashcha Chitavritti Nirodha'.

As described in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali - 'Sthiram Sukham Asanam' means that Yogasana is a balance of effort and relaxation. We try to get into the posture and then we rest there. Yogasana brings balance to every aspect of our life. It teaches us to try and then surrender, the knowledge to be free from consequences. Yogasana increases our physical flexibility and develops our thoughts.

Some examples of traditional seated yoga poses are-

Vajrasana (Thunderbolt Pose) - Sit with the soles of the feet and feet on the ground and the buttocks on the heels.
